Why-How-What: The Three-Tier Narrative Structure of a Culture Wall
BW is based on Simon Sinek's Golden Circle
Create a culture wall content design framework
Reading Path Design: How Visitors "Read" the Culture Wall in a Space
A culture wall is not a static display board, but a dynamic narrative within a space. The visitor's walking path determines the reading order of the content, which is why BW plans the reading flow simultaneously during the design process:
· Start: The "Why" layer (Mission / Values) is placed at the first point of visual contact—typically the frontal view when turning from the waiting area toward the culture wall.
· Development: The "How" layer extends along the corridor or to the left and right, allowing visitors to read while walking, with information naturally revealed as they move.
· End: The "What" layer (Achievements / Clients / Awards) is positioned near the entrance of the meeting room, completing the persuasion just before business discussions begin.
· Height Control: Core information is placed within the optimal reading zone of 1,200–1,800mm for walking eye level; decorative elements can extend to the ceiling to enhance the sense of visual height.

ART DIMENSIONS
When a culture wall is elevated to an art installation
BW has partnered with Jimei Design of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts to establish Art Dimensions, with its Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices now officially in operation.
Large-scale Sculptures and Art Installations
Create custom artworks for corporate lobbies or exhibition halls. From concept development and creative supervision to installation, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts collaborative artists work hand-in-hand with BW designers to ensure the perfect integration of artistry and spatial functionality. Suitable for: corporate exhibition halls, lobby focal point artworks.
interactive sensory device
Connecting visitors with brand stories through sensing technology—triggering as they approach, changing when touched, and creating lasting memories after interaction. Interactive installations offer brand recall far superior to static display panels. Ideal for: reception waiting areas, brand experience centres.
Museum-grade display system
Museum-grade exhibition design and construction for corporate history halls and product showrooms: integrated planning of exhibition lighting, exhibit protection, explanatory signage, and interactive interpretation systems. Applicable for: corporate exhibition spaces open to the public.
Original Mural Commissioned Murals
Connecting the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and a network of collaborative artists to provide custom, original mural creations for offices. We manage the entire process, from artist matching and creative proposals to draft confirmation and on-site painting. Each artwork is unique and cannot replicated.
BW Culture Wall Design Process
Corporate Culture Wall Design Process
01
Brand Content Refinement
Collect the company's mission, vision, core values, history, representative cases, existing CIS manuals, and branding materials. BW's brand designers will identify which content is suitable for spatial presentation and which loses its impact after visualization, helping owners streamline content to make the key points stand out.
02
Narrative Framework Design
Organise the content using the Why-How-What framework to determine the starting point, development path, and endpoint of the reading flow. Simultaneously, confirm the location and dimensions of the culture wall, as well as its visual relationship with the surrounding space, to ensure visitors complete their brand journey along a natural walking route.
03
Material and Craftsmanship Confirmation
Select materials and processing methods based on three dimensions: brand personality, budget, and maintenance requirements. All materials must be presented using physical samples to confirm the colour tones and textures under the light source conditions at the project site, rather than relying on computer screens for judgment.
04
Rendering Presentation and Confirmation
Present the final concept of the cultural wall using 3D renderings, including close-ups of details (font size, material seams, and lighting effects). Once confirmed, sign digitally to lock the design and proceed to the construction drawing and material procurement stage.
05
Construction, Installation and Brand Supervision
BW brand designers participate throughout the supervision of the culture wall installation, ensuring that the Logo proportions comply with design specifications, material color swatches match the approved samples, and the lighting angles achieve the designed effect. After completion, the actual culture wall is captured in 4K high-definition to serve as video and image assets for brand communication.
