China Resources Capital has established Runnovation, a Hong Kong technology and innovation hub located in the core area of Wan Chai North, adjacent to the Convention and Exhibition Centre and Wan Chai MTR Station. It aims to provide high-quality co-working spaces, versatile event venues, corporate accelerators, and cross-border exchange resources for startups, tech companies, and investors. It serves as an important hub connecting Hong Kong and Great Bay Area technology resources, driving startup incubation and cross-border industrial cooperation.
Through an overall design of "Flexibility × Intelligence × Collaboration", Runway is upgraded from a traditional co-working space into a high-utilization, highly satisfying tech-innovation hub with brand influence and Greater Bay Area synergistic effects.

CORE DESIGN CHALLENGES
Core design challenges
1. Lack of space flexibility
The startup team size fluctuated significantly (from 5 to 50 people) within 18 months. The traditional 3-to-5-year lease model was unable to cope, and the space could not be reconfigured according to different business stages.
2. Outdated meeting facilities
Poor soundproofing, dim lighting, and a lack of audio-visual systems in traditional co-working meeting rooms have caused over 60% of startups to lose points in funding negotiations, affecting their success rate.
3. Lack of large-scale event venues
Professional conference venue rentals are prohibitively expensive (HK$8,000-15,000 per session), which startups cannot afford, leading to limited brand promotion opportunities.
